Some people may not know what off-the-grid or off-grid means, so here it is --- The term off-the-grid or off-grid refers to living in a self-sufficient manner without reliance on one or more public utilities.

Off-grid living is no longer a one room log cabin in the woods. It's energy independency. You don't have to rely on utility companies, you create your own power. Today, there are more than 180,000 off-grid homes in the US.

More Snow Pictures...

{Update:  34 degrees outside – 12:32 pm – still raining, but is supposed to turn back into snow later this evening…}

At 4:45 this morning, Tony got on the excavator and started clearing the driveway since the snowblower is still broken.  In addition to clearing the driveway, which included removing several trees that had fallen over, he had to dig out his truck that was stuck in the snow down at our gate.  After seven hours in the excavator he just came in to have some lunch and then is heading back out to finish cleaning up the driveway.
